Orora were a DREAM of a client for Think in Colour. Their leadership conference this year was a prime example of how to effectively use visual communication and graphic recording pre, during and post your conference to create a beautiful visual narrative and consistency.

“Orora were lucky enough to have Jessamy graphic record our Global Leadership conference. She was truly amazing! Prior to the conference we engaged her to do some pre work which included imagery on our Leadership bags which would then tie into the whole conference. For the 2.5 days Jessamy did an extraordinary job of really bringing our conference to life. She captured everything so wonderfully, and at one stage the audience even gasped aloud when seeing her imagery on the large screens. We then used the work as not only imagery but a shorter video which Leaders could then use to bring back to their teams and debrief the conference – which was a fun, quick and engaging way for our Leaders to be able to do this. I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending Jessamy to anyone who wants to capture a conference, workshop or training session – or in fact anything. Extraordinarily great!” – Angela Di loria, GM HR & Organisational Effectiveness

The June 2021 launch of VFFF’s new five year strategy Backing Young People was the culmination of a ten month strategic review process. The VFFF team set out with a clear mandate from VFFF Directors to increase the focus of their grant making, to be innovative and to keep playing a leadership role in Australian philanthropy. The team was encouraged to develop a strategy that could be ‘uniquely VFFF’ and relevant to the interests of all generations of the Fairfax family.

Over the ten months, the strategic review was informed by consultation, research and listening to experts. Discussions with diverse stakeholders were invaluable, including grantees, other funders and industry experts.

In May 2021, Think in Colour supported VFFF to bring their journey and strategy to life in two ways:

1) Illustrating the journey so far, including the timeline of events, who was consulted, and other external factors to foster understanding and consensus on how and why they had landed on their chosen focus area.

2) Graphic Recording their leadership strategy day, capturing their thoughts and creating a Strategy on a Page in real-time at their off-site.

These illustrative outputs provided the team with a near-instant communication tool, and one that all leaders saw coming to life with their input in real time.

The outputs have also been used as part of VFFF’s annual report, providing an engaging and accessible way for stakeholders to understand their strategy and priority areas.

The Australian International Education Conference (AIEC) has been connecting people and ideas for more than 30 years.

It is an opportunity each year for the international education sector to meet, learn about major industry trends and network with Australian and international colleagues.

Think in Colour has proudly supported every AIEC Conference since 2016, all around Australia and virtually during 2020 and 2021.

Each year, the illustrations are collated in a web gallery and sent to participants following each event, creating a catalogue of the various themes from across the years.

We have also supported various activities, workshops and presentations with pre-prepared graphics.

It is open to young people aged 12 to 24 years, educators, and parents/guardians across Australia.

Throughout 2020 and 2021, Think in Colour supported Achieve Fest through graphic recording, as well as a 5min “intro to visual note-taking” at the start of the event to encourage participants to use these skills for their own note-taking.

We also created these “how-to” videos to make the process easy to navigate for teachers, young people and parents/carers alike.

“Jessamy and the Team at Think In Colour are always a pleasure to work with. We make sure all our online events are graphically recorded now!

In June 2016, as part of Sydney’s Vivid festival, Indeed (the world’s #1 job site) hosted a special lunch and expert panel discussion on the topic “Tapping into Australia’s High Potential Workforce”.

In addition to using graphic recording on the day (with live video feed to the big screens), Indeed chose to engage Think in Colour to produce an infographic which was printed and given to each guest on arrival, along with their own collateral. We also created introductory holding screens for the speaker and panel, to create a consistent style throughout the event.

Here’s what Indeed had to say about the experience:

“I was blown away by the ease and speed with which Jessamy interpreted the brief. So many compliments came from guests at our event on the images, which is great, but more than being an impressive spectacle, Jessamy’s work created a strong tie between the presentations, media materials, social integration and video content which helped us tell the story in different ways. This allowed us to reflect the creativity of Vivid Sydney and tell a compelling story while staying on brand.” Emma Hornsey, PR Manager, Indeed
