“In our own words” is a systemic inquiry into the lived experience of children and young people in the Victoria out-of-home care system. Through this report, children and young people – the true experts in the system – told us what is required to make it better.

In 2019, Think in Colour collaborated with the Commission for Children and Young People to create an illustrated version of the report, bringing the young people’s words to life and presenting their ideas and aspirations back to them in a medium that’s engaging and easily digestible.

The findings were also tabled in the Victorian Parliament on Wednesday 27 November 2019.
